I want to make a CL for my 65. I am thinking of making a manifold run across the back. For the CL, it would be a submerged Mag9.5, and the return is a Q1 3K.

I am thinking 2 1" inlets, and 3-4 1/2" outlets in the manifold. I am wondering if the stronger Mag 9.5 would increase the back pressure on the Q1 and cause early failure.

Advice?

Are you planning to plumb the 2 pumps using the same pipe(s)? I don't quite understand your question. And it took me a minute to figure out you were talking about a Quiet One 3000.

If you want to connect both pumps to your manifold don't do it. Use the mag as a closed loop and keep your Q1 as the return. If you try connecting them together. If anything stops your return pump, you will pump all of the water down to the mag 9.5 out into your sump.

Thanks. That makes sense.
