Hey everyone. I have seen a lot of people end up starting with reef and FW alike, and I would like to see what everyone ended up with on their first ever tank.

Post pictures of all of them.

I'll start off. I began with my dad on a 150 freshwater community, that is still running.

My first ever reef (which is still my only semi/reef)

Could someone also give me an ID on this little guy. He's a SA cichlid that was given to me by a friend. I don't know what he is.

Started out 7 years ago with a 55g reef. VHO's. No skimmer but a...um...the thing that miracle mud goes in that groes macro...Eco Filter or something similar??? yeah i had a lot to learn back then..

This is a pic 6 years ago right before I upgraded to a 120g... Still have that same yellow tang and the blue linkia. The tang, well they live forever and mine is prety much full grown now. I've never seen one larger anywhere in captivity. Also, I'm amazed that the linkia has lasted so long. It's huge, about 8 to 9 inches arm to arm. LOL the linkia is so old i named it AOL when i bought it b/c that was like the only internet provider out back then and the linkia would strike a pose like the AOL logo. :) Also it's common knowledge to SLOWLY acclimate linkia's... well i got real lucky cuz when i brought him home i just threw him in no acclimation. Wow I've learned a lot since those days...

It looks like a young Guianacara , I used to have a school of G. geayi in my planted SA cichlid tank. Love those fish.

Afraid I dont have a photo of my first reef though- digital cameras werent around quite yet... lol

Well I've had bowls since I was 3, but my first actual tank was a 40g freshwater tank.

This is my current and first sw tank. Had lots of fresh when I was a kid. I had a 12 gallon that was self sustaining for over a year.
