Last year my skylight and the evaporated water from my tank turned our kitchen into a rain forest. http://www.anchoredbygrace.com/smileys/stormy.gif With no vent in the living room and evaporating 2 ½ gallons a day from the tank it has to go somewhere! Also, worried about hidden damage like mold. This year a friend lent me a dehumidifier to try out as soon as it started to condensate in the skylight. It is a portable SoleusAir. I have run it for a few days and it has completely dried up the water from the skylight. Just wondering what experiences, good or bad, you have had with these types of units. Is this something everyone does?

I collect about a gallon a day and thought I would check the TDS reading of the collected water. It’s way less than my tap water TDS!!

Thanks

Its not unusual to need to run a dehumidifier in the room with a tank. I see you taking a tds reading from the dehumidifier tank - don't use that water for your tank.

Thanks! No the water is going into the plants around the house. I was just curious as to what it would read! Also I was wondering if the above dehumidifier was any good or if others had better recommendations.

We are concerned with molds in the (indoor) environment and that started us to wonder if we shouldn’t run the dehumidifier along with fixing the indoor rain!!
