My 90 gallon tank is doing well and is now pretty much algae free. I have a pair of clowns, a blenny, a purple tang and a goby. I also have several mushrooms that are doing very well.
I am looking to add my first coral, and am considering a candy coral due to its lighting and flow requirements.
Would this be a good coral to first add and work with.
Thanks

Yes, they're a pretty undemanding coral and will probably be ok under similar lighting as mushrooms. Would also be ok under stronger light.

yeah, they are beginner corals from what I read, one of the more hardy LPS.

Go for bright green one, not bi-color or pale colors. Mine had less light requirements and very hardy, comparing to other two.

Good choice they are one of the hardiest I have .they were totally unaffected in a crash I had this summer. Mine seems to like the light.

Honestly, I do not know what it is, but candy canes do terrible in my tank, and I keep a wide variety of brains, and these just cant seem to grow or puff out.

My candycanes seem pretty hardy. However, I found mine like to be in a more shaded area with lower flow.
For a first coral, I think mushrooms are the best. They're very forgiving, and don't have high requirements. They do well if water quality is good, but will indicate if conditions are really bad. So, you get to work out how good your water is before you go and kill something more delicate!
