Hi,
Do you guys sell this stand? Is this made of composite materials and how sturdy and durable is this type of material when exposed to salt water?
Thanks,
Gary

Sorry, we do not carry that line of Perfecto stands. We carry the Pine Majesty, Prestige, Sedona, and Calypso stands from perfecto
The composite materials stands, while not as durable as solid wood, will hold up to saltwater fairly well. to insure long life of these products you need to keep them clean and dry as much as possible, and avoid salt creep and standing water from spills and leaks.
thanks,
Dave

I hate to say it but composite, particle, high density, engeneered is all garbage when you are buying something that WILL inevitebly get wet. avoid at all costs as its a waste of money IMO. If your in the market for high end real wood that I commend you. just speaking from expierience.
I have oceanic tanks... which are built from 3/4 ply with the exception of the door frames. Take a wild guess which parts of the tank is failing after just a short 5 years. If I would have known that any part of it was high density I would have passed on it also. Slatwater most definatly affects wood and even solid wood for that matter. the best is a solid wood tank with some sort of plastic linning.

Thanks guys. I'm only planning on keeping this stand for a year before upgrading so I dont know if I need to worry about the stand falling apart and collapsing in that amount of time. Otherwise, what solid wood stands would you recommend for a 40 gal. Perfecto tank? Sedona, Pine Majesty?
Thanks again,
Gary

Dave, which Perfecto stand would you recommend for the Perfecto 40 Long Aquarium (212214) that you carry?
Thanks,
Gary

The pine majesty is a solid wood stand, and is an good choice if you are looking for function more than esthetics. It is a basic, no frills stand, they are available in black and oak. The 36" x 13" Pine Majesty is 99.99
The Sedona is a much better looking stand, with a nice finish. This stand requires assembly, and is a mix of solid and composite materials. It is much like furniture from IKEA if you are familiar with those products. The 36" x 13" sedona is available in black and red oak and is 229.99
Hope that helps.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
I'm interested in the Perfecto 40 gal. Long Aquarium that you carry with dimensions of 48" L x 13" W. Is there a Pine Majesty stand for this size tank?
Thanks again,
Gary

sorry, did not see that you were looking at the 40 long. Yes, we have a Pine Majesty for that tank. The perfecto stands are listed after the aquariums on the website.

Dave,
Would it be okay to use an AGA stand for a Perfecto tank? Could I use any 48" L x 13" W AGA stand for a Perfecto tank with the same dimensions ?
Thanks,
Gary

Capt. Nemo,
Yes, that will work. In general the AGA tanks have a bit wider trim on the tanks than the perfecto, so perfecto tanks will fit on AGA stands.
Thanks,
Dave

Dave,
Between Perfecto and AGA tanks, which one would you consider to be better as far as workmanship and quality control?
Thanks again,
Gary
