I am looking at the gieseman infiniti lighting fixture and was wondering if I should put 3x250's or 4x250's on a six foot tank. I know the rule used to be a light for every three feet. However is that a must?

Also anyone using the infinitis what combinations have you used

the 12000 or the 6500's with actinics

i think if you look around you'll find that most 6 foot tanks with halides use only 3 of them. 1 bulb for every 24" of length. I am guilty of this as well and it has the proper coverage.

I had 2x250w HQI on my 36", and had insane growth rate on my SPS. Some of my zoanthids started to melt from to much light.

I have two 400 watt MH's on my 75 gallon (temp is stabilized).

Are you saying that it is too much light for zoanthids?
