I have a filmtec 100gpd ro filter that I just put on my system. I had a 50gpd filter before. Do I need a new flow restrictor to allow more flow or will the membrane still work the way it should. I don't need 100gpd, so if I get 50gpd that is fine. I just want to know if it will affect the performance. If I do need one which one should I get?
thanks,
Andy

Andy - flow restictors are matched to the gpd rating of the membrane, assuming you have 50 psi, and 77 degree water.
So yes, you should get a matched flow restrictor.
That said, check first what your waste to purified water ratio is with your current restrictor. You want something near 4:1.
Because at this time of year you may have much colder water thn 77 degrees, it may be the casse that you can use your 50 gpd restrictor in the dead of winter and swich to a 100 gpd restrictor when the tap water temps. warm up.
Our flow restrictors are on this page: http://buckeyefieldsupply.com/showproducts.asp?Sub=109&showspecials=109
The 100 gpd you'd want is: BFS-218 Capillary flow restrictor, pre-trimmed for 100 gpd - $4.00
