Hello all,
I recently purchased a Current USA Nova T5 216W lighting to replace the CSL 196W system. For the previous CSL 196W lighting, I used to place right on top of the tank, but when I did the same thing for the Current Nova T5 lighting, it likely produced more light into the tank but at the same time, it created more white hair algea in the tank or on the rocks. My question is where should I place my lighting system? Please advise.

thanks,

Question:
You had 196 watts of PC sitting directly on top of the tank and replaced it with the Nova also sitting directly on the tank.
1. Is the Nova noticeably brighter than the PC?
2. Is there now a difference in the tank temperature either higher or lower??

Thanks
Rick

hi Rick,
1)I could see the Nova produces so much more light into the aquarium.
2)Yes, the water temp. is higher than using PC, but I decided to have it stood on small rubber which included in the system, and the temp. is not an issue anymore. The Nova comes with a mounting bracket, but I have no way to figure it out how to mount them.

thanks,
