Thanks to all that voted for my tank! I can't believe I actually won
it:eek: !
It's my first ever reef tank and I've learned quite a bit from forum.
What pursuaded me in the first place to go with a marine tank were all the gorgeous set ups I've seen browsing through this forum. As you can tell, I love color in my tank!
I have a 34g Red Sea Max with the following mods:
*20K 150W HQI + 2 x 18W PC, R2 5-LED Moon light
*Koralia 1
*Current 1/15 Chiller
*Deltec Calcium Reactor
*Chemi-Pure Elite
Live stock includes the following:
*Yellow Coris Wrasse
*Six Line Wrasse
*Yellow Clown Goby
*Green Clown Goby
*Purple Firefish*
*Fridmani Pseudochromis
*Blue Flavivertex Pseudochromis
Corals: (Not all listed..too many) Mainly:
*Florida Ricordia
*Yuma Ricordia
*Zoanthids
*Scolymia
*Blastomussa Wellsi
My most recent Addition..Flame BTA:

Nice tank and congrats! Where is that BTA gonna fit in there? I take it they don't hurt softies?
Okinawan

Uhuru,
Thanks..I've moved some things around and placed it strategically in an area where its out of reach of all the softies except for the Ricordeas at the bottom. So far no ill affects. Eventually I'll need to move it to a bigger tank which is in the planning stages. I'll have to take another FTS and post it.

Thanks a bunch! You don't know how many iterations of aquascapes and coral swapping I went through to get to this point.

did you get the bta from zoanuts? that was one heck of an anemone!
and can you elaborate on your CA Reactor set up please? How are you preventing PH flux etc.?

Thanks all for the positive coments! I really appreciate it.
ezcompany, I went with the Deltec PF501 with a future tank upgrade in mind. :D This model comes with a built in PH probe
so you can control the PH with a PH controller. Basically set the controller with a PH range that's recommended for your reactor media. If it goes beyond the specified range it kicks on the selenoid on the C02 tank and drives down the PH to the acceptable level and then closes the selenoid. The Calcium reactor is supplied with water from the system via an aqualifter. I did get the BTA from Dusty at Zoanuts. I must say he's got some of the most awesome corals I've ever seen! Lucky for me he's only 20 minutes away!:D
Here are some pics:

thanks for the reply, so you're not experiencing much PH Flux and the PH doesn't dip too low cuz of your controller?

Yes and yes. The controller keeps the PH in the ideal range.

pbukow,
I ordered the light upgrade through nano customs. It took me a while to put it all together..some soldering was required. If I had to do it over again, I would have let nano customs put it together. It was quite a chore getting everything hooked up right. Here's a pic of the hood open..It only opens so far so I did the best I could to get a pic. The ballast sits on a shelf below the aquarium in the stand. The cover was taken off for this shot.
In the middle is the 150w HQI bulb (20k) and to the left and right are the 18w actinics and next to those are the lunar lights.

20K 150watt halide, two 18watt actinics, and two blue moonlight LED fixtures. Thats not too blue for you? It does give your corals some really nice pop though.

InLimbo87 and keegoaz,
Thanks!
pbukow,
Actually, I had replaced the 20k with a 14K Phoenix bulb. The Phoenix is much brighter and gives a crisp white with a hint of blue. I recently replaced it again with the 20K to get more color but have since gone back to the Phoenix. I think this bulb gives the best balance.

Very nice, Any more pics you got floating around that you would like to post, skimmate, new additions, any more equipment. I love seeing how tanks are filtered almost as much as the display part.

danoreef,
Thanks! I'm new to reefkeeping but have been into photography for a bit longer. I use a Nikon D200. Believe or not, since I don't have a true macro lens I use a 300mm telephoto for close up shots and has worked great. The quality of the lens is really top notch and it does allot of the work.
gregrocks79,
Thanks for the compliment! Much appreciated.

The HQI light makes lots of difference, too bad the price bringing this mod to Singapore is unbelievable. I am still running with stock light....really tempted with HQI mod after seeing your tank.

thedidavid,
I love my RSM with the HQI upgrade but would not go this route if I had to do it over again. I wanted to keep some SPS and according to conventional thinking you need MH lighting. I have seen some tanks with T5's only with nothing but SPS so it can be done. Like you mention, the cost is a big issue...you can practically get another tank with an HQI setup these days for what it costs to upgrade.
