Can someone offer opinion on sand called CaribSea?

Is it something to stay away from completely or can it be mixed 50/50 with true LS?

Thanks

I do have a carib sea sand in my tank. Trere is a live and dry one. Both of them you can mix with other sand. You dont even have to go 50/50 you can just seed your sand with some live one. But mor live, better. Good luck and WELCOME TO REEF CENTRAL!!!

I used CaribSea Black LS. I didn't have any diatoms blooms nor did it deviate any of my parameters. In my opinion, the product I purchased was good. Here's a pic of the sand.

IMO It's over priced and not needed. I would buy dead sand from LOWES/HOME DEPOT and one pound live that I would beg, borrow, or steal from the LFS or better yet a fellow reefer. Good luck.

I agree, Live sand in a bag is a joke. Bacteria cant stay alive in a sealed bag with no water circulation, temperature stability and no food. Gte some dry base sand and seed it with a few cups of livesand from established tanks. Ask your LFS or another reefer.
