I want to replace one of my MJ 400s with something more powerful like a 600 or 900. I already have the stock return pump and three MJs. I have a biocube 14 gallon. I was going to replace one of the MJs. I think the 900 would be good for my tank, but in that small of an area wouldthe 900 be too turbulent? I want to increase flow and circulation in my tank but i don't want to blow anything apart.... thoughts?

nope, thats fine. i know alot of other people replace the stock pump for a 900 or 1200. i have a 900 plus a mini 606 in the back of my NC12. if you want to increase circulation look at a tunze nano stream.

wouldn't a nano stream be wayyyy too much in a 14 gallon?

I had a maxi-jet 1200 with the sure flow 1600 in my NC6 for a few days. My poor fish! Unplugged it and now I'm undercirculating.

I think a Nano Koralia will do it. Thank God for e-commerce!

Is there such a thing as too much flow? I've certainly never heard it here.

I have about 1200GPH pumping through my 30g reef. Too much flow?
NEVER!!!!! :D

If you don't have a sandstorm in your tank, then you don't have too much flow.

When the sand won't stay on the bottom of the tank, ya might want to unplug a powerhead.
