what size do you recommend for a QT tank though?.. Cause i cant go to Walmart and buy their 29 gal special, cause Walmart has bad quality fish/supplies/aquariums here.

How many fish do you want to QT?
Btw......no rock in the tank.
Bare bottom and PVC to hide in.

the size of the qt tank depends on the number and size of the fish you are qt. A 10 or 20g qt will probably be fine for about any fish that you will have in your 32g display. The fish from wal-mart may not be the best, but their supplies and aquariums are fine.

In my 29g qt, I have a pvc house I built, 2 small powerheads, the HOB filter, and a good size piece of filter foam floating around. I vacuum up the fish poop every other day, and do a 5g water change twice a week or so.

I agree--all you need is a hob for filtration--just let it run on the main tank for 3 days or so and the medium will have plenty of bacteria in it.
29 is pushing it--I like between 10--15 gals. but I'll only qt a new fish or invert that I buy.

I purchased a Marineland Eclipse 12 online - so easy to set-up and then put away. A little more expensive than a "Wal-Mart special" but very convenient in that everything you need is included in the box. They also make a 6g.

live rock is actually ok if you are not going to use chemicals for treatements. In the case of hyposalination the bacteria will adapt

I take a couple of pieces of lr from my sump and put them in the qt---I remove them if I have to use chemical and put them back in the sump.
