I think I know the answer, but with stock light, can I have a few SPS corals in a 14G bio Cube?
Thanks

You MIGHT, and i stress MIGHT be able to pull off a montipora piece if you put it at the very direct top of the tank.

I don't advise this at all.

I figured I would ask here first, what about a clam?

No clams unless you upgrade the lights.

clams are light hoggers, i suggest upgrading the lighting before going into clams or SPS or even some LPS if anything the most u can do with the stock lighting is softies.

I keep a piece of montipora in my 14g biocube. I did add another 24 watt pc bulb from Nano-Tunners though. I would say its doubled in size since I got it 2 months ago. Just place the piece closer to the top of the tank and you should be fine this type of sps.

I have some monti cap in my 14 with stock lighting.....it is near the top and its doing fine. The growth isn't amazing but its started to encrust and grow out a little.

I don't recommend putting sps under 14 gal lights. Sure they can do ok, but it leaves less room for other mistakes. An sps with adequate lighting can tolerate some nitrates or phosphates, what have you. If the light is barely able to keep your sps alive, then a small amount of nitrates or something like that is more able to kill your coral. Just my .02/experience

Yeah the caps should do alright but for other SPS I would reccomend a light up grade. 70 Watt sunpod or the likes.

im curious, how do you get that purple coralline on your rock? Im using 250w hqi AND acitinics on my 29 but i never get that vibrant of color.
