I have an EHEIM Professional II External filter (2028), and an over the top Prizm Skimmer, but I want to build a sump to get rid of the filter and more important upgrade the skimmer.
My sump will be a 29G tank and I need a good skimmer for my 75g tank.
The one I have is very noisy and connected directly to the tank, so the new one has to be very efficient and at the same time very quiet, I'm not planning to spend more than $200 in it, so which skimmer do you recommend ?

I use an NW150 from www.octopusskimmer.com on my 55gallon, even though it's rated for WAY more than that. The price is great and it works wonderfully.

I have the Octopus NW 200 on my 75 and i love it, but it's a little big for the sump.

I use the NW150 in my 30 gal sump for my 75. It it quiet, easy to maintain and works great.

Everyone's gonna hate me:

I have a seaclone 100 on mine, works AWESOME. I've made several mods though, which are essential to it working well. I clean the skimmate about every three days with five fish and daily feedings.

The modified seaclone skims about half as much as a stock Octo 110, for comparisons sake (I own both). I am planning to purchase an Octo 150 to replace my 110 in the coming year (for my 75) if that helps.

Edit: I didn't mean that as a slam on the seaclone, it gets enough of that as it is... I was just stating my experience.

Thanks a lot for your replies.
I've just ordered a NW150 based on your recommendations.

Woohoo! There are plenty of threads with mods you can do to it, but IME it works great right out of the box.
