I know this isn't the right board, but I want to see what skimmers everyone is using on their big FO tanks, and get ideas/suggestions for mine. I have the option to buy a MTC HSA1000 skimmer used for about $300-350. I've heard mixed reviews about beckett skimmers. They take a lot of dialing in, fine tuning, and injector cleaning, always seems to be messing with the skimmer, not to mention you need a big pressure rated pump. An energy efficient pump is a must, I need to keep the electric bill down as much as possible (that's why I'm running an ocean runner 6500 for a return). I'm looking for a very efficient skimmer, that I don't have to constanly be messing with, just want to clean the collection cup out every so often. I am on a budget (college student) but willing to pay for the right skimmer, I'd like to keep it around or under $500, but will buy a used one if I have to. I was looking at these skimmers, but open to any suggestions.

Any suggestions for an effective yet energy efficient skimmer for my 360g? Thanks.

I would say go with the ASM G6. I have a G3 on my 180 and it is awesome.

I don't know if I can get a G6, but I can get a G4x for $325 new from my LFS, that's the biggest one they carry.

I think I am going to go with this skimmer, just waiting for some kind of reviews or something to come out first.
