Blue Zoo's can vary in price.

TUB's BLUES ZOOANTHIDS is in my opinion THE nicest Zooanthids you can find anywhere. Hard to find and expensive when you do.

You will see the difference in the boldness and brightness of the tub's blues when compared to other zooanthids

what's the average price per poly for that kind of zooa? I like that blue color, and Tub's zooa you recommended.

Don't tubs usually go for around $80-100 per polyp?

This site had some neon blue this past week. He updates on a regular basis. There are some blue there and I have bought blue from him that looked nice. He also had yellow rics, but they went fast. His prices are very resonable.

Glad to help. Check it weekly, it updates often. I love checking out the site every Friday night to see what kinda stuff they got. Really good deals and EVERY single time the shipping was impenetrable. Best shipping I've encountered so far as products arriving intact.

29bucks flat rate doesnt seem like a bad deal on shipping either

i assume the pics are all the actual corals for sale and not the mother colony ?

how fast do these grow? tub's....

12/11/2007, 05:52 PM
Depends on how comfortable they are with your tank. At the price they are selling, really is due to its rarity and im sure they are very slow growers.

Once they start growing, dont frag them until they cover your whole aquarium.

guys, I got approximately 14 polys from the guy. Marioensf, I think I am the first one, there are three colonies, I bought the smallest one without frag them.
The big colony looks good, but they are not fully opened at that time. I asked that guy who told me because the light just turned on.
I know nothing about the Zoas, I am acclimating them and reading the articals in Zoa Forum.

banch of the question I need to ask and give me the link or quick answer to me before I put them in.

lastduke

First question:
After the acclimation, assume I will do the correct acclimation, where I should put in the tank.

the tank has 20inch height with 70W MH 20K bulb. Do you think it is okay to put them at the bottom rock? the other option is to stick them on a "vertical" rock (like a pillar in the tank). It will look cool. Will zoa get enough lighting at that vertal rock?

Your best advice regarding placement is going to come from the seller. What kind of lighting did he have and where in his tank did he keep them ?

I like Tubs Blues, but IMO they are not the brightest blues you can get. Also when you say tubs your talking about a guy named tubs who put his name on a specific morph. Just because they are blue doesnt mean they are tubs and just because they are not tubs doesnt mean they are not going to be nice.

Here is a little of what I am talking about.

PS..None of these are for sale or trade as they are growing out. Thanks for understanding.

Hey !

I'm glad you got them, I've been busy these days, today I picked up a nice 48" Giesemann 250W fixture, went all the way to San Jose, took me almost 2 hours due to traffic plus I got a little lost.
How much you paid per polip?
He's to give you a "deal" if you buy more than 5? I think

They look like they might be stretching for light, you might want to start to slowly give them more. They are a very nice blue and look like really cool zoos regardless of their name.

they were stretching when I got them yesterday. I am doing the light acclimation in my tank. Will move them out into the light weekend.

Hey !!

Glad to see your blues.
Went today to pick mine. It was a pain in the...
Told the guy I do not have a cell phone so please e'mail me your address and phone, he sent me the phone number. I was replacing the windshield of my work van in Hayward and went to the junk yard to get a couple of door latches, some mf broke into my vehicle begining of this year and took more than 3K worth of equipment and tools....
Since I was on the East Bay I decided to roll to pick my blues. I got there around noon could not get a hold of him nor payphone or e-mail He's a student at UC Berkeley so I guess I had to wait till classes were over.
Finally contacted him on a payphone (it's a real pain to find a payphone these days !!) he did not want to give me his address over the phone, can you believe it? he said was sent to my e-mail so I had to drive again and find a hotspot for internet access, told him I'll be there in 5 10 mins, white van yellow fleece top...
waited outside the dorms like 30 mins, no show, had to find again a payphone that did not work...
A nice gal in a flower shop let me use the phone and finally, told him REMEMBER I let you know I do not have a cell phone, will be outside, white truck, yellow fleece top.
Went up the dorms, first clear security....
Three little frags, polips closed of course there's the I just turned on the lights so I was suspicious, same story, I worked at Atlantis Aquarium, bla bla bla...
I got a nice 20 polip frag for 90 Good deal !!
I do not have a camera at the moment but look at lastduke's frag, they are wort it (not the hassle of a college kid)
I'd recomend him for tubs, after all he's right, he's in college and needs money just get a hold of him in the afternoon and take your cell phone with you
If I do well with these tubs, I'll probably share some of them.
He also gave me about 3 or 4 red polips since he didn't have change, they fell off the plug and are somewhere in the tank, too much rock to find them so let's hope for them to find a good spot anchor and grow...

lastduke
12/13/2007, 11:52 PM
Look at that, how hard to burn the money ...............

I am glad to hear you got the blue zoas from him. You bought the mid size frag I think. The biggest one was reallly nice, but I am not confident i will keep them alive because I am a brand new reefer. Hopefully, other guy of here will take it from him.

Did you do dip before you put in your tank.
I got a kenya tree yesterday and did a fresh water dip. gosh, one white spider, serveral flat worm came out......
After I was happy because I cured the corals, my damsel and clown fish ate it!!!!! they are bald now, if you are interested in what they looks like,
