ACjr temp fluctuation

I was by my tank this morning and noticed my temp was reading over 84f so I double checked my second thermometer and the tank is fine. My AC unit temp is jumping back and forth all over the charts. Mostly its climbing back and forth between 79.3 and 80.5. Is there anyway to tell if its the temp probe or the unit without buying a new probe? My set up is only three months old.

Unplug the temperature probe from the controller, and the controller should read about 20 to 25F. If so, then I suspect that the temperature probe is broken, and needs to be replaced. If this is a AC3, ACJr, or PX1000 then you need part # PRBTMPJR for the replacement temp. probe.
