My brother has some weird algae type stuff growing on the back of one of his rocks. It's in a 125g reef. It literally took over this one backside of the rock. I am guessing it doesn't like a lot of light. He has a T5 over it now and it seems to be fragging off. Here are some pics of it, please help ID what it is, good or bad, thank you!

the pictures are hard to tell but if it doesn't look like hair algae I would venture to guess its some sort of colonial sponge. Again, kinda hard from the pic but it doesn't look like any of the nuisance algaes.

I have these growing all over in my sump. They're sponges. Nothing to worry about.

Cool, thanks everyone. I'll let my brother know, wish his regal angel would eat them, he's having trouble getting it to take prepared foods, or anything really, going on for over 5 weeks now! Glad it isn't a bad thing, thanks.
