So I found a new critter living on/in the live rock. IT opens from within the liverock and looks like a polyp only it is almost translucent. It dissapears back into the rock faster than it appears. It opens like a flower in the morning sun when light shines onto the section of rock it lives on/in. Then it dissapears almost like a worm moving back into it's hole in the ground.

Here is the best pic I could get of it tonight when I shone a flashlight into the tank at it and it appeared. If you look where the orange spot is on teh rock it is just above that as I said it is almost a translucent white/clear in nature.

Sorry. I cant see anything in that photo. Can you draw an arrow to what you are looking at?

My guess, Tube worm. I'm sorry I don't see it, so I'm just guessing like I said.

maybe a peanut worm? they fold in on themselves and their head resembles a feather duster kinda. do you only see him at night? but as the peaple above said there is nothing visible in the pic.

Well hopefully this helps a bit I am going to try to get a pic in teh morning to when there is some natural light on it.

It almost looks like one of the worms on this page just not so much colour.

Good bad other? I am going to try and get a better pic tomorrow and see if I can tell what it is I will post it up here if it turns out better I was using a flashlight to light up the thing tonight to take the pic.

Yup, from description it sounds like a featherduster ....If you use a flashlight in the night you will surely find many more..

Could be aispista (glass anemone), BAD!
If its a feather duster its good.

See if you can get a better focused photo!We're all such grumps on photos arnt we! :D
