Awhile back I remember reading a thread on using camelback shrimp as pest control. The thread talked about isolating the infected coral with the shrimp and letting them do their thing. In effect eating pest off the coral. My question is are there any new updates on this?

I saw some updates on another site recently. A few people reported the camels ate only their pests. Most people seemed to think the camels were more dangerous than it was worth though, especially if they were let loose in directly to the reef tank rather than to a quarantine setup.

I just put 10 in my sump. I am getting some frags next week so I am going to try it out after I dip them.

Peace

knowing my luck they would breed and plague the display.

I've stated this in a few of these threads and I'll say it here again.

I've imported thousands of camel shrimp in my days. I've held them at times with corals and watched them first hand mow polyps down on all types of coral and anemonies. I wouldn't put a camel/dancing shrimp in my reef, not in a million years!
