I am thinking about getting a large angel. Specifically a blue face or emperor. Are anemones on the menu for angels in the wild? How does it fare in the home aquarium?

I have couple of angels along with anemones and they're fine.

if you have zoos then you shouldn't have it.

I've had zoo's and angels for yrs with no probs. My rock beauty of two years has never picked at any coral or nem.

I have a juvi blue face with a Haddoni carpet ( 2 ) and was with a BTA until I sold it (( was getting too big )). The blue face doesn't bother any of them at all.

Now, zoas on the other hand, s/he eats them like candy.

Its always a hit and miss with angels... just keep that in mind. If ya lucky, your angel wont destroy those beautiful specimens you have lol.

I had an Imperator Angel that I raised from a small juv. It changed colors and grew to be a beautiful adult. It also started ripping at the RBTA's. It might have been doable with large clowns to defend their anemone but I had to remove the angel with Percs.
