Looks great. I'm not usually a fan of damsels, but yours add nice color to the tank.

Tank looks really nice! You've got a great color variety in there. That flat shelf on the top with the zoas is pretty cool too.

bella127

I am thinking of putting 4 large yellow tangs and two blue hippos with the damsels, would that be too much?

12/18/2007, 06:08 PM
no, that will be just fine... lol (total sarcasm)

bella127
12/18/2007, 06:26 PM
Maybe I'll just settle with 5 xl yellow tangs and no blue hippo, a mandarin perhaps with a sixline wrasse with a clam under 24watts of incadescent lighting. Come on , where are the clam, tang, mandarin police at?

I couldn't believe how my big corals swelled up after adding calcium , strontium, and iodide supplements to the tank. Just a capful of each , does that mean they are happy , or just plain ****ed off. I thought Senator George Mitchell was going to launch an investigation on my frogspawn for HGH and steroids . The frogspawn could not be reached for comment.

CPR is the manufacturers name . I had the sapphire, this one blows the sapphire away hands down. You can see on page 1 in the glass jar what this skimmer pulls out of the tank

Very nice collection. I really like the variety of colors your doing.

Are you finding good growth of the frags with the tray setup your doing?

bella127
12/31/2007, 05:09 PM
I just put the tray in today , I see everyone else doing it , so I am going to try.I'll keep you posted

martinphillip03
12/31/2007, 07:29 PM
LOL I spent 5 minutes looking at the pictures to see how I missed the tray in earlier pictures.
I guess the idea is the corals will overgrow the tray so you get a coral ledge? If so, how long do you expect it to take? Looks like a great idea

Marty

12/31/2007, 07:31 PM
what is the tray for?

bella127
12/31/2007, 08:07 PM
Well i just upgraded the lighting to metal halide /t5 combo. This way my corals in theory are easier to propagate . The shelf makes it easier to detach . While spending all this money to get what I have, I figured out that there are forums where people actually trade stuff.lol. Now with my investment in lights , skimmer , supplements ,I can keep this hobby going by selling or trade other corals. I want to get into SPS but that too is a whole other ball game.

Bella, Where you been?

I see you have a Hydor FLO. You like it? No problem installing on the Bio 29?

How's the tank doing?

mksalt
01/05/2008, 01:27 PM
Disregard my "where you been" . Did not see the rest of this thread.

Tank looks great.

I’ll bet a little more evaporation with the new lights.

Still would like your opinion of the Hydor Flo.

Went with your suggestion on the SR3. Been running less than 24 hours. Blowing a lot of bubbles in the tank at this point.

bella127
01/05/2008, 06:52 PM
It will blow bubbles for a couple of days til it breaks in. The hydor flow works awsome.I did use some plumbers tape and wrapped it around the male end of the hydor so it would fit better.Cost was 13.95 at LFS.The Hydor koralia 1 was 27.00 and it works great.Works great with the maxijet in the rear chamber on the other side

mksalt
01/05/2008, 06:58 PM
Which Maxi jet did you upgrade to?

Never owned a skimmer before. Understand it take a couple of days to start working properly.

No idea at what level to place the cup, but I guess that will become obvious later.

Seems like a lot more water noise from the water falling from chamber one to chamber two now.

I bet your daughter misses the snow already.

martinphillip03
01/05/2008, 08:39 PM
How often are you emptying your skimmer now.
