Just thought I would post about this tank I saw. go take a look, then, beg, longingly, to your loved one, that you would like to refi the house/2nd mrtg. to get this tank.... If you've got 30 feet of wall and an extra room to put it on. :D

http://www.tropicalfishstore.com/TenecorMonster.htm

at least it comes with most of the requirements to get it up and running.

If I am going to spend that kind of money, I will pick the equipment out myself...what is a "best in class skimmer" anyway:lol:? I think those are geared towards the non-hobbyists.

if you look at the cost to set up a tank(like the 450 gal) for 25 k its complete.Everything you need. Its a bit pricy but if you wanted to buy all of your lights ,skimmer, stand, controller,de nitrate unit, calcium reactor, plumbing, pumps shipping and assembly my tank cost me over 10 k for a 300 with 125 gal sump.I didn't buy top of the line lights.I got a good deal for my skimmer(dart NW less than $1000) I still may need a calcium reactor and de nitrate unit.I did all the plumbing myself and built the stand.I could have spent 15 k easy.

You can do a 450gal for way less than 25K Im building a 500+gal system and i don't think ill be even close to 25K (at least i hope not)
So far
$2000 Skimmer
$500 Cacium reactor
$150 Phos and Carbon reaactors
$5000 for 5'x6'x30" ($1500 Less if i go 25" tall) tank and metal stand shipped.
Lights?? about $7 K if i go with solaris or $2kish for MH??
So im close to $15K if i go solaris lights. All my stuff is Top of the line stuff also i highly doubt theres is.

Yeah it looks like its geared toward the guy that wouldn't sneeze at $150K but also doesn't have a clue about anything aquarium related.

At least they include a "controller/monitor"! Heck, at that price, they better give me the Dell to hook it up to also.

What! No magfloat included?

If I spent that much, I would seriously expect to snorkel in it and hand feed my fish.

It's pretty obvious it's geared for the extremely casual hobbyist, if not the all out non hobbyist who has money to burn.

I find it hard to believe that anyone currently playing at our level would trust someone else to build a "dream" tank based on some over-hyped ad listing a bunch of non-descript equipment.

Turn key or not, I'll spec out my own equipment thank you very much!

I still want to see this 30' tank. I wonder why they don't have any pictures. Dang i just noticed that these tanks are 5' tall! Even the 8 footer is 5' tall! There going to need some impressive lights for that height!
