Pump for Skimmer

I have an old ER ES53 Skimmer with the old dolphin NW pump. I recently did the recirc mod on it and found the skimmer is way too loud externally.... perhaps in general. So I don't quite want to buy a new sedra pump from ER so I'm looking for other options. I've looked at the sicce thread but I just got lost... An option I have been thinking was using a Eheim...but I don't know which one and how to mod to fit my skimmer. Please any input would be great. Thanks

What kind of noise are you hearing? Is it a rattling sound, slurping from the venturi hose, or just too loud of a hum?

what diameter is the body? I have been using a quiet one 2200, [ a sicce with a smaller impeller] on a 6'' x14'' and it absolutely kills. much better than my overpriced sedra 5000.

It's a rattling sound. It vibrates... I don't know...

My skimmer body is 5 or 6 inches in diameter and 10 inches tall. I changed it so accommodate a larger load.

Is the ceramic shaft still intact? I had mine break on a pump and it went crazy
