View Full Version : Where To Balance...

Hypothetical question here...

Normal Ca is 435, Alk 3.71

Say one is getting these readings: Ca: 455 Alk: 3.09

Things are out of balance... What should one do? and Why?

1) Raise Alk to 4.74 to balance with Ca?
2) Raise Alk to the normal 3.71?
3) Nothing until Ca drops.

Thanks!

Check in the morning for most accurate reading.

I don't think the concept of balance is very useful in this sense. Those numbers aren't that bad. I might keep dosing alkalinity for a bit and let calcium drop, or just leave the parameters as they are.
