I have a 210g fowlr and am needing a better skimmer. I am looking between the asm g3 and the prizm pro deluxe. Which would you recommend?

G3... But you're not comparing apples to apples in this case. Why not look into another brand??

I wouldn't use either. If I had to pick between those two, the G3.

I'm looking for something that won't kill my bank account. Buying used isn't an option as I have been burned before and am gun shy as heck about trusting someone. I'd love the big $$$ skimmers but am looking more middle of the pack in price. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated !

Is $500 out of your range? The New Octopus Extreme 250 is $475 at marinesolutionsinc.com

Is there any kind of feedback on that one yet?

G3 is your best option at this point, about $400. Solid skimmer. Love mine............

I would look at any octopus over the asm, they are cheaper w/the same design.

G3 sure seems small to me for this tank and please dont waste your money on a Prizm.

I would at least get a G4+ if you are stuck on ASM.

All in all i would would try a Octopus Extreme

One thing I was wondering before I buy another skimmer. I am running a Berlin XL on the tank right now and it starts out skimming like mad but then the bubbles start to cyclone and eventually stop all together. I have tried tweaking the air flows but the results are always the same. It has the stock pump and I was wondering if that could be my problem. Could I upgrade the pump and make this a reliable skimmer or should I just put it in the shed with the other casualties?

I would go used! I was burnt 1 time buying stuff online (Adcom home stereo amps) & it is a isolated case. I still buy used & just look at one where you can see lots of pics. There are numerous skimmers which are MUCH better then a G3 or anything else that has been mentioned for similar price just used on this website. I have a ASM G3 I there is no way I would throw one on a 210G FOWLR, Mine is on a 90g reef & it needs to be modded to keep up. The skimmate I get looks similar to Mtn Dew, I cannot get it dialed in properly...

Of course mine is an in-wall system, so space is not of a big concern. Here are a few pics of my BM200 running. Pics taken a while back.
