I have a question about the product. You can use a product like RowaPhos Phosphate Removal Media (http://www.jlaquatics.com/phpstore/store_pages/product-info.php?product_ID=rw-phos0250) as the media for it, but my question is how long does say 250ml last? at 22 bucks for 250ml of the stuff it could get pricey if it didnt last very long.

try twopartsolutions, they are alot cheaper on things like the GFO media and carbon.

I believe 150ml is supposed to last a few months.

hm so 250ml could possibly be 5 months or so, which wouldnt be to bad, I was fearing 1 month hah. I'll def try twopartsolutions too.

Hello,

I am looking at my Fluval Phosphate remover media and it says for 150g it removes up to 20Mg/L in 50 US gallons. Once it fills up and become exhausted, it must be replaced. It varies from setup to setup, each one has different level of phosphate(s). My Kent Nautalis reactor says to change media every 3-6 months. In the begining it could be monthly....

For 90 gal volume, I would use only 100g and change it every 4-6 wks. There have been reports that GFO may leach the phosphates back after 12 wks or so.

For price it's tough to beat TwoPartSolutions.com on the GFO.
For the absolute best, Warner Marine Phosar HC is it, but very pricey.

Even the best GFO on the market (Warner Phosar HC) only last 12 wks.
