I purchased him as a Parrot Wrasse, but can't find any information on them. I'm looking to buy a few more wrasses as tank watch dogs and don't want to end up with incompatible fish. What other wrasses would he get along with?

It's hard to tell which type of wrasse that is without the dorsal fin standing up.

There are so many wrasses that are red its so overwhelming.

If you love wrasses as much as I do may I suggest purchasing a wrasse book.

I purchased one a few months ago entitled "Fairy & Rainbow Wrasses and their Relatives" by: Rudie H. Kuiter.

It has 205 pages and every one is filled with plenty of color photos.

It shows every different variety of wrasses to each location that it is found in. That way you see all the different color varieties.

I purchased this online I can't remember where put I'm sure if you googled the book title it would pop up.

I believe I paid $35.00 that included s&h.

Sorry I couldn't help more good luck in identifing your wrasse.
It's beautiful by the way.

If you go to reefs.org, sorry reefcentral, There is a guy named Dr. Hiroyuki that posts in collectors corner. He and others in this forum are very knowledgable when it comes to iding smaller wrasses as well as other fish.
