i saw some small hermits while snorkeling they were about the size of a fingernail or maybe a little bigger than a grain of rice i saw them while looking under rocks on a reef.im thinking of collecting 50 or so does anybody know more or less what kind they are just off the top of the head?

There are so many different kinds that we would need a much better description. Where are you snorkeling, what color are their legs, and possibly what kind of shells are they living in? what is your location you were collecting them ?
do they have all white leg?
the ones i collect if not kept fed alot eat all my snails
also be aware of fishing laws in your area and have your fishing license available

they were so small i couldnt really tell the color of their legs. they were really small and this is off a beach in puerto rico.as far as laws my cousin diver4life schooled me on them hes a cop in puerto rico.
