my name is isaac vander veen and i just bought a 60 gallon salt water tank from a guy who clearly spent no time cleaning or maintaining the tank...i want to get a cleaner crew to do the work for me and simply wait for the cosmetics to set in...i have a Red Volitan Lion and a Huma Huma Trigger...what kind of cleaner crew would be safe from such fish? all the websites say that these fish eat invertabrea andim just wondering if there is a cleaner crew out there that would be able to do their job without being eaten:P any help would be appreciated

I can't help you on CUC compatability with predators but I can tell you that if the tank is in need of maintenance and cleanind a CUC will not do it. You're going to have to get elbow deep in cleaning and scrubbing etc. You are also going to need a bigger tank for those fish. How big are they at the moment.

sorry about the brief layout before. i am brand new to the salt water tanks and the fish simply came with the setup...i found an awesome setup with all accessories included for $200 and couldn't pass up on the deal...here's the setup..
i have a 60 gallon tall show tank with stand, i have a filter(cant remember the brand right now sorry) rated for 320GPH with a power head. i also have a protein skimmer which i haven't yet set up because i only have the tank half full of water (i got the last bit of water today) it came with 55 lbs of live rock, full bed of 2" thick live sand, and one anenome, not specific on lights but the guy said that the lighting was good for the invertebrate, tank was up and running for a year and was running till the moment i arrived. the huma huma is about 1 1/2" long and the lion fish is about 3" long... i plan on performing an initial cleaning myself but im worried about the increase in ammonia when i clean the algea from the walls so i wanted to have a few critters around to pick up the little pieces that i may drop but it seems like the huma huma will eat any crabs or hermits i have.
basically im a newbie with a solid set up and some difficult set of fish...im just looking for advise on how to keep my fish alive, maintain my tank, and be safe in expanding my live stock.
any help is much appreciated:)

[welcome]

Wish I could help but at least you'll be back up to the top for more views. Best of Luck on your new tank!

The trigger likely will kill any cleanup crew added, so I'd invest in some magnetic algae scrapers. The loose algae isn't likely to cause any problems unless there's huge amounts of it, but it can be siphoned out if you wish.
