Setting up a 50”x 31”x 24” deep (SPS only) frag tank and will place the SPS 6” to 12” below the water surface.

What would be good lighting recommendations for this setup?

Thinking -

2 150w MH
Or
2 150MH w/ a couple actinic
Or
T5s

Any reason to go higher than 150w MH?

In my opinion a tank 24" deep needs 250MH. On the other hand with just 150 you can keep some less light demanding corals with less change of stressing them.

Also I think you will be more pleased with "supplemental" lights (actinic or T5's). If you're wanting to really BOOST some major coral growth add some T5 bulbs in the lower spectrum... something around 6700K
