Just received a birthday present from a friend, my second copy of "The Conscientious Marine Aquarist" (a great book for the beginner setting up a tank).

So I'd like to take it back to Borders and trade it in for a book that focuses more on reef keeping and corals. Any suggestions? What is the one book in your library that you think every reef keeper should have?

Thanks everybody, and Happy New Year!

Calfo's book is a good general book regarding reefkeeping/propogation/corals.

Bornemans book "corals" is really good at providing some science and gets alittle more specific regarding describing different coral families.

I have Bornemans "Aquarium Corals" book and use the heck out of it. I also have Calfo's Marine Invertebrate and Coral Propagation books and enjoy those as well.

All 3 volumes of Delbeek and Sprung's "The Reef Aquarium". I also like "Aquarium Corals" by Borneman...it is great. :D

I'm pretty well set up in terms of hardware and aquascape. Now I'd like some good reference material for reefkeeping/propogation/corals.

Julian Sprung's :
Corals A Quick Reference Guide isbn 1-883693-09-8 and Invertebrates A Quick Reference Guide isbn 1-883693-00-4

beyond that (without being redundant), google the coral species of interest and open the link beginning with "www2.aims.gov.au/coralsearch/html....." or you could buy (same thing), Corals of the World Vol. 1 2 3 by J.E.N. Vernon isbn-10: 0642322368 isbn-13: 978-0642322364
