Can this be done efficiently? Any particular positives or negatives to this?

I read a thread on here recently that someone was using the standard dosage of phosban and filled up the remainder of the reactor with activated carbon.

This would be great if I could do the same - right now I am running rowaphos in a reactor and carbon in my cannister filter. I'd like to remove the cannister if possible.

Negative: carbon and rowa typically need to be replaced at different time (Rowa can last longer than carbon)

Many people do it, but i agree with J.

You can add them together and just adjust the amounts so they run out about the same time. I have mixed them together. When used like this, have the carbon first in the series, if possible.

I put mine together as well. I use half the GFO and replace it all monthly.

However, I also have a small water volume so I don't need to put much into the "reactor".

Now, can I say it works? I have no idea and assume it does.
