I have 2 40gal Tanks and 1 is a reef, 1 is just cycled. In the tank that has just cycled somewhoe copper has gotten into there i wanted to turn it into a reef aswell. Dont know how the copper got into the tank but when i tested it is at 0.10. Will this affect any inverts?

yes, it will kill them. I'd suspect the rock or sand first. Check your sources, if it's in the rock you might as well toss it. If it's in the sand, re-setup the tank. Or you could just do it the slow way and buy several poly-pad's and use them in the tank until they quit changing colors. I think they turn black for copper or something like that... dunno. Anyways it's on the instructions.

I know that live rrock is like a sponge for it tho. I was thinking of selling it to someone with a FOWLR and then buy some more, but i got the for 14 per kilo and i know i wont be able to sell it for as much as that. I was thinking of just starting again.

It may be a bad test. What test brand were you using?

I would retest again. Unless you got a bad batch, Sailfert is a good brand. Would would get rid of the rock and sand and start over.

is there anything else you would recommend replacing?

I would retest with another brand just to confirm. Are you using any brass fittings in your plumbing, pump connections, or pump impellers?

No nothing containing metal at all.

You might want to use cuprisorb. Using a polyfilter will also help confirm the high copper by turning colors as copper is bound, as mentioned above.

I have just started using cuprisorb, what colour with the polyfilter turn. Will the cuprisorb and poly stop it form leaching out of rock and sand

Neither will stop it from leaching, but can absorb some of what does leach.
The polyfilter will turn bluish if copper is excessive.

and how long does it take for the polyfilter to change? Mine has been in 12 hours and no change but I am sure I have a copper problem (brass fitting in sump for over a month and all coral and inverts dead).

Depends on the copper level, the flow through the filter, etc. Let's see what happens in another day or two. :)

14 hours and poly-filter is a pale blue gray...probably trouble huh?

The other thing in brass that is a problem is zinc. The zinc is actually more reactive in SW than the copper.
