Are all of your sps certified to be pest free? I am talking about red bugs, flatworms, and monti eating nudibranchs. Do you use interceptor at all to treat your corals? Thanks.

Maximus,

Thank you for your inquiry. All the corals that we bring in to our Rhinelander Wisconsin facility are quarantined in a separate system upon arrival. In quarantine, we monitor and medicate the corals in order to alleviate pests such as Red Bugs. We work hand in hand with our staff of Veterinarians and compounding Pharmacists who are on site so that we have immediate access to the proper medications in specific dosages for the size of our system, or size of our dip/bath containers. After the corals have passed through quarantine they are moved and housed in one of our three main coral rows. From there these corals will be selected for sale in the Diver's Den section of the LiveAquaria.com web site. We will be happy to check with our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility regarding your question on what medications are used and we will post a reply after the weekend.

Even with our thorough quarantine procedure we always recommend quarantining everything before being entered into your show aquarium. If we can be of additional assistance, please contact our LiveAquaria Department at 1-800-334-3699, via email at CustomerService@LiveAquaria.com, or PM us.

Maximus,

Thank you for your patience. After contacting our Aquaculture Coral & Marine Life Facility, we have the information on the medication that is used to treat for Red Bugs. A proactive approach is taken when quarantining the SPS corals we receive. We treat all these corals with Interceptor during the quarantine process and we also perform regular preventive maintenance with the Interceptor. It is one of the many preventions we take to ensure the well being and health of our Corals.
