My skimmer came today and forced me to tweak my sump design a bit. I just siliconed in a couple of pieces of acrylic - these pieces are will hold the vertical pipes that my overflows are draining to.

So here's the deal - I'd planned on leak-testing my system tomorrow. Of course the directions on the tube of silicone say to wait 48 hours before filling the tank with water, but I'm sure they're talking if you're using the silicone to actually SEAL the tank - right?

Am I setting myself up for chemical-induced trouble if I fill my tank sometime tomorrow? After I leak test it, I'll be draining the whole system and re-filling with RO/DI.

I think 24 hrs is sufficient.

Ditto on 24 hours.
