Just saw an interesting YouTube video of a pistol shrimp & goby

Starting to investigate the pistol shrimps,

Wondering if a pistol shrimp + goby would be a more active and entertaining option than a mantis for a species tank on my desk at work.

Anyone know if you can have multiple pistol shrimp or will they seek each other out?

While the goby/pistol combo is pretty interesting they aren't incredibly active to my knowledge. they just sort of hang out near the entrance or plow some sand. No real interactivity or hunting or anything. Depend on what you really like I guess. I find it interesting but if I could only have one small tank.....

Actually, they can be really fascinating. In particular, the combination of a Randall's goby and a tiger pistol shrimp is very, very cool. Give the shrimp lots of building materials (like crushed shells, pea-sized rubble, etc) and have fun watching.

I can post a video of my tiger pistol shrimp and yellow watchman goby. Actually the watchman has vanished, I think it either got caught in a landslide or got eaten by my scorpionfish; my intent is to replace it with a Randall's goby when the LFS gets one.

The (smaller) combination of a Yasha Hase goby with Randall's pistol shrimp is fun as well.

Basically "it's all good". Just don't try to combine the mantis and the pistol!
