Aquacontroller(original) vs AC jr package???

I bought an original Aquacontroller from a fellow reefer it was never used (just bought a long time ago) . He was going to use X10s ,so I must buy a DC8 or DC4 or x10's....don't wanna do X10's . So my question is at $160-$ 180 for a DC8, it seems to me getting a ACjr w/serial and DC8 makes better sense for $260-$300. Yes?..no? Are there any pluses to keeping the older Aquacontroller original and buying a DC8?

1)You have a backup.
2)Jrs only control 12 outlets or so.
3)The second jr can be used for the X10 if you wanted to play with it. Its not as bad as people make it out to be. At least in my experience.
4)The second jr can be used to monitor a calcium reactor.
5)You may be able to sell the old one on ebay for more than the $100 you will pay for the new one.
