what else in your tank do you have LPS wise? What type of lighting and flow?

Ive always found them to be really hardy. They do seem to prefer indirect light- many types grow on vertical reef walls where they dont get full sun beating down on them. Ive never really noticed much affect from low vs high waterflow.

Keep your basic water parameters in line and I dont see why you wouldnt do alright with them.

BTW- turn off the CAPSLOCK! lol... forum etiquette- youre yelling.. haha

My chalice has been really hardy. It even survived a tank crash. I lost all my SPS along with a couple of fish. Only survivors were a few LPS (with the chalice being one of them).

I keep mine on the floor in the corner of the tank where it doesn't get too much light, but it does get a decent amount of flow.

One thing they won't survive is laying face-down in the sand for any period of time.

well really nothing will live face down in the sand

I've picked up plenty of corals that had been face down overnight that were fine.

I've keeped them in high light and low light...lower light seems to give them more color variations...they do need decent flow to blow off their slim they can produce....but definately more hardy than most....

But they were pretty upset huh?

I don't know why but some chalices do very well in my tank and others dont.

Maybe a dumb question.. I have a couple of smaller echino in my 26 reef under MH and am starting up a BC8 in my office. I am moving my pollyps and shrooms over.. can they be moved as well? Will they survive/grow under stock PC lighting?

Thanks in advance,
Tony
