Live Sand?

Just put live sand in new ref,Sand was from my main but has been in a 5 gal bucketfor at least 2 1/2 months.Do you think my tank will have to recycle? If so what about my fish? QT or water changes every 3 days. Checked ammonia this morning, same as last night. Little nervous, took the day off to keep a watchful eye.THANKS

Moved to NTTH for more views.

After a few months in a bucket, the sand isn't live anymore. I'd likely pitch it, unless it was just the bagged live sand, which isn't very live in the first place.
