Hi Ginzo
Yes J&L will carry the salt ,Jason talked to Allen & he said he might not have time to add it to site this week however ,if you call in they can help you out.
Please give them a couple of days to receive the salt & figure out their pricing.
As far as online shops ,the salt will also be available through Aquarium Specialty & Zeovitusa as well.

Could somebody please post the price?
Last time I checked (2007) it was $90 a bucket plus shipping bringing total cost to $125-$150 a bucket delivered. I personally do not understand why any salt needs to be this expensive....

Hi Canary Girl
I understand your concern, however if you look @ the range of products we bring in & compare them to their price in Europe ,you will see there are no pricehikes with us.
Almost all the european brands have higger price in US ,which we are sure you noticed ,however because of our large buying power & network,we even had products that retail for less than what they are sold in the originating country.
For Example Please compare these 2 stores for bubble king.
http://www.meerwasser-aquaristik.de/shop/catalog/default.php?cPath=21_79
http://www.premiumaquatics.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Category_Code=bubbleking
Just as an example;
BK MINI 200 @ 899 euro=899 x 1.47=1321 USD
Same item sells for 1129 in US.
Unlike other european brands the same thing goes for most our lines .
As for the case of this salt.
http://www.korallen-zucht.de/de/shop/produkte-technik/meersalz/index.html
Manufacturer retails it for 69 euro=69x 1.47=101USD
Unfortunately because this product is a heavy shipper we are not able to cut cost on this item ,like other lines.
The retail will be very close to what is being sold @ in Europe.
As for the reason why the salt is more expensive.
Unlike most other salts ,this salt is made in germany not china,Premium Quality ,pharma grade material ,the higher cost of manufacturing in Europe ,Weak Dollar,....are amongst many reasons to make out that price

Chris

Sure would be nice if Zeovit would find a north american formulator and allow them to mix up this salt recipe here, according to spec...
otherwise I will just be sticking to my Seachem Reef Salt
Thankyou, Chris.

If you're truly interested in the salt as I am, we could talk to Barrier Reef about bringing some in. With Proline being in Vancouver, BC the shipping would be a little less than if we were to get it from anywhere else.

He meant Barrier would buy some from ProLine and it would be less shipping since Barrier is near Seattle, WA. As in less shipping than someone from Seattle buying it after Proline ships somewhere farther away in the US or Canada.
