View Full Version : Anyone have Acropora spicifera?

I just picked up a frag of it-- sort of a tri-color red/green/pink with polyps like a millepora. The mother colony grew like a flat plate with widely spaced stubby vertical projections. Looks like no other Acro I've ever seen. I did a google search and couldn't find any photos that looked like it. If you have A. spicifera, please post some pics!

not yet. It's a small 1 1/2 inch frag so it doesn't have the same plating structure as the mother colony yet, but it still looks quite a bit different than my other acros, colorwise. I'll try to get a photo this evening and post it.

Thanks, not much to brag about just yet, but the mother colony was really unusual looking. Just curious to see if the plating is the normal growth habit or tank condition related, if anyone else has one.
