chaeto growing in tight curls

I have some chaeto in my tank that has begun growing in tight spirals. Anyone seen this before? Its crazy looking! Why would it do that?

mine has also done that in my smaller tank, totaly healthy but i just broke it up into a looser formation

it does this when it getts plenty of light, it does not need to grown long to reach the light

Sounds like pretty typical growth for the cheato we get for our tanks.

Spiralling around itself or something else?

I had some Chaeto that escaped from my 'fuge into my seagrass tank and decided to spiral around my Syringodium/Manatee grass. Tight little curls....

I took care of it by pulling it off the Syringodium and throwing it in the trash :)
