Hey Proline,

Can you get the ATI Powermodule T5 ?
If yes, will J&L have it ?

I'm looking to get the 10x24w module and maybe the 8x54w module ?

Hi Ginzo
We no longer carry the ATI brand.
We will have 6x 24 in stock from Aquaphoton(linea series),hopefully by the end of the month.
We are also planning to bring in 6x 24 / 1x 150w DE as well if that interests you(Photon Plus Series).
Regards
Chris

Umm..as much as it sounds nice, I'm looking to go full T5 with the Zeovit method. The ATI Powermodule is the way to go. I already have 2 x 150w Metal halides et with 4x39w T5 that I want to get rid of and replace by a 8x54w Powermodule T5.

That's too bad :(

When will the Photon Plus be available? Where can I get them in the USA? Pics?

the photon does not use individual reflectors the ATI is far superior because it uses active cooling and individual reflectors JMO

Cambarr, that is good information as I expected individual reflectors. This is the only reason I'm not going with Giesemann or similar.

In general, the T5 on many of these combo fixtures seems to be a waste other than to add a little color since you can't get the T5 close enough to the water surface to be effective vs. placement of the DE MH.

I'm looking for a different solution: primarily T5 (minimum 6 x T5) with a little MH mostly for that shimmer effect!

WHICH Photon? The linea (an all T5 fixture) does have individual parabolic reflectors. Many of the photon fixtures do sport individual parabolic reflectors... it just depends on which model. The 'photon' name is just used to denote that its a Grotech lighting fixture. There are many fixtures under this though.

As for fixtures that sport more than 4 rows of T5s with halides... very rare, and if anything, made in Germany and not available here. The thing is, of these makes, the solution to fit so many bulbs into a fixture is to squish them, and then you do get 6 rows of bulbs, but because of the diminished reflector capacity, you may only get the output of less bulbs anyways with better reflectors. I have never seen a 'all in one' solution which has both good halide reflectors (like a Sfiligoi, Maristar, or Lumenarc) AND good T5 reflectors. There just isnt enough space for this unless you start making units that are more than 24" wide and therefore hard to market. The closest thing to what you desire would be an Aquaconnect Power-RIGA or Aquaconnect ATON... nearly impossible to get in the US though. They have ful size T5 reflectors, but their halide reflectors are rather tiny. The other end of the spectrum would be the Sfiligoi, with large halide reflectors, but very scrunched T5 space, so the reflectors arent the best. The middle ground would be the Sfiligoi Modular system.

My suggestion would be to make your own out of individual components. Or, if you really want to stick with fixtures, combine fixtures to get what you want. You could use a halide only fixture of the right length (like An Aquaconnect Oceanlight) and flank it with a couple T5 only fixtures of the right length. Good T5 fixtures for this would include the Fauna Marin Ultra-Solaris (or similar ATI sunpower or Aquaconnect lumimaster), the Grotech photon linea, or even Aquatinics TX5 I suppose. Then you get the look, but you can also position the halides and T5s as best needed, AND get as many T5 bulbs as you want to flank those halides.

There is this fixture:

It looks like a Grotech, although I have never seen one of their units with 6 rows of T5s like that... so good luck getting one...lol.

hahnmeister - agreed I think it may be best to mix and match fixtures. Two years ago I brought in an Aquaconnect Power Riga with 2 x 250MH and 4 x T5 from sewatec.de but the reflectors on the T5 were not that great as you mention.

Perhaps ATI 10 x T5 and ditch the middle 2 x T5 and use the space for retrofit DE MH?

I wouldnt mess with the ATI, and I dont think there would be enough room anyways for anything decent. It would really screw up the way the powermodul works.

They do however, sell thinner powermodules... 2 and 4 bulb units. If you went with a 4 bulb in front, and a 2 bulb in back (with haldies in between, or heck, if you can fit 4 in front and back, go for it), that would be a pretty good setup.

Andre from aqua photon sent me these pics of the Photon Linea. I wanted to deal directly with Aqua Photon and was specifically interested in the 6x24 Linea this is an an example of the reflector that andre sent me???

hahnmeister, thanks for the picture of the 6 x T5 + MH unit. That is in fact the Aquaphoton Photon Plus... the 4 x T5 + MH unit is the one originally marketed by Grotech and Aquaphoton now offers the unit with 3 rows of T5, front and back.

Ultimately I think I'm going to go with two ATI units, one in front and back, 4 x T5 each, and then use a seperate MH pendant fixture in the middle.
