Russ,

Just got my system(75gpd Premium) today, got it setup and flushed and now have questions.

1) My pressure gauge is pegged with the on/off valve open all the way(I put one on the input line to control flow to the unit) so I throttled it back till the gauge says 60-ish psi. Will this hurt anything?

2) My TDS before=142, after RO=22 so rejection rate=84%. Will this improve over the short term to near 98%? My cold water measures at 68F.

Thanks again and I look forward to your answers.

Hi Robb. Do you have a booster pump or is your line pressure just really high? Either way, let's get the pressure up to between 85 and 90 psi if you have that option (No higher!).

Please check that rejection rate after the system has been running for about a day. Make sure you are very careful in how you take the measurement (use a calibrated meter, use only a squeeky clean glass sample container, let the unit run for 5 to 10 minutes before taking a sample, sample the RO water directly from the DI bypass valve after letting water flush from that valve for about 30 seconds).

Remember you are measuring in parts per million - so its easy to measure an erroneous TDS level if you're not careful.

Russ,

Thanks for the reply.

I guess our pressure is really that high, no booster or anything., but I've never had it checked either. I'll crank it up tonight, I started filling my tank last night after all the flushing, when I'm filling.

I'll also re-check TDS Fri night, so that will give it a good two days worth of running. I checked it with the meter that came with the system, but did not calibrate it so I will do that also.

I'll post back Fri evening or Sat sometime.

Thanks again!
Robb

Readings tonight =94% rejection rate. Much better.
