connecting the lunar to the ACIII

I'm a bit confused to the instructions - They say to connect the cord from from the left rj-11 connector on the LS to the ACIII - I only have one unused port on my ACIII, its the serial port.
DC8 is connected to the control and IO Breakout Box is connected to the I/O.
so which port is used?

The "control" connection chains between all the devices you want to control. If you have a DC8 then you can connect from the "Control" port on the AC3 to the "Control In" on the DC8 and connect another wire from the "Control Out" on the DC8 to the "Control In" on the Lunar module.
