K-1 Metal halide lighting

Does anyone have any experience with Metal Halide lighting from K-1. My local shop sells it and I found a couple places online that sells it. I can not find out anything about the ballast. Also the reflectors are flat. Wouldn't it be better if the reflector wrapped the lamp.
