There is a new local reef club starting and CIMA wants to welcome it- Champaign urbana Reef Club. This is being organised by good people and deserves a look.

Is this new club going to replace CIMA or are we gonna have both?

Going to be both. CIMA will continue as a informal but organised club. We are 100% behind the new club - and we will work so our meetings don`t compete. I would hope people would support both clubs- if one has to miss a meeting of either club, there will still be an opportunity to socialize.

I like that idea. Two clubs, one informal yet organized for those people that just want to talk about fish and corals and thier husbandry, and another club for those people looking for, well, more out of their club. Should suite the needs of the people well.

Regarding meetings of both clubs......how about if CIMA has a meeting on a weekend...the CURC could have one during the week. Not EVERY month mind you but I think it would help out those of us that have to work weekends and have time off during the week !!!

kinda weird having 2 clubs in the same town, but owell. count me in for both then.

The two clubs thing just kind of happened- I don`t think it was anyones intention. But since the people doing both clubs are friends nothing but good can come of it. As stated before- there are two styles of clubs- both viable. This way no one will feel trapped in a club that is not doing what they want- and people who want to talk reef 24/7 will have twice the chance- win win.
