Hey all, in planning the electrical layout for a new account we are trying to figure out where we can place our DC's and Expansions in our fishroom. So the questions are:

1. Do/Can the Control Modules plug into a normal outlet and then have a cable connecting to the ACIII unit?

2. What type of cable connects the AC units and how long are they from Neptune?

3. Are there any "extension" cables to connect the DC's, Socket Expansions and the ACIII (max of 18ft away)?

4. Similar to Q1, how do the 220V Socket expansions work? In other words is there one 220v that plugs into the outlet, and a cable that daisy chains off of a DC module? We are planning on a large chiller and we are trying to figure out how many 220v outlets we need in the room.

Thank you so much all!

The direct connect boxes plug into a regular outlet in your house. The DCx boxes come w/ a 7' telephone style cable. No, we don't sell extension telephone cords.

The max recommend length between the AquaController and the direct connect box is 10 feet. If you are going to use a longer cable then this be sure to use twisted pair cabling. Pins 1 & 2 should be 1 pair, and pins 3 & 4 the other pair. Many customers have made their own longer cables, and they work fine. But we can’t guarantee it operation since the cable length is out of spec.
The 220 socket expansion box has a 120V power cord that plugs into an AC outlet on a direct connect box. When power is applied to this cord, the 220V SE relay is closed, and electrical current flows. The 220V appliance's power cord is wired into the screw terminals inside the SE box.

Excellent thank you Curt. I think my boss is in the process of setting up an account with you, we are with Aquatic Art Inc. Your customer service and willingness to answer these questions ( and your quality products of course) has really been a deciding factor for us to go with your controllers now and in the future.

Cheers,
