My skimmer is new, it's been running for 5 days i know breake in period, it makes foam, then dosen't, makes foam, then dosen't, is that normal

Donnie,

This is normal for the first few days but I would not think after 5. I am going to assume you have the correct size pump for your skimmer, if it is less than the minimum necessary to run the skimmer that could be a problem as well. Also check the pump to be sure sand, dirt, etc didn't get into the impeller chamber which could slow it down.
